Makers is the new concept store of ROC Midden Nederland, located in the heart of Utrecht. More than a retail space, it is a platform where craftsmanship, creativity, and entrepreneurship come together. Here, students step beyond the classroom to showcase their skills, connect with the public, and gain real-world experience in a professional environment.
Learning by Doing
Students bring Makers to life by offering a wide range of products and services. Visitors can receive sustainability advice, enjoy a new haircut or styling session, participate in workshops, and discover unique products created by emerging talent. Designed as a permanent open day, Makers gives the city of Utrecht an opportunity to experience the next generation of makers while allowing students to develop their skills through direct interaction with customers.

Makers is built on strong partnerships. Together with the Winkel van Utrecht, the concept combines student-made products with work from established local makers, creating an inspiring mix of creativity and craftsmanship. The collaboration with Stadsherstel provided the opportunity to establish the store in a prominent historic location, while students themselves welcome and engage visitors every day. The result is a vibrant destination where education, local entrepreneurship, and the community come together.
